Adele faces backlash after announcing gigs as her website CRASHES moments after pre-sale sign-up

Adele has faced backlash after announcing that her new tour is available for pre-sale – causing her website to crash just moments after.

Fans took to Twitter to question the star about the priority sign-up, as they were previously promised ‘first access to purchase tickets’ after she cancelled her tour in 2017 due to ‘damaging her vocal chords’.

Twitter users flooded the comments under her announcement, all with much the same viewpoint: ‘Why aren’t the people with cancelled tickets getting priority as promised? Come on.’

Others similarly wrote: ‘Can’t wait but do those that had tickets to your cancelled Wembley gig get first opportunity?’

‘Sorry, tour presale you say? I’ve still got my tickets from the last event in 2017 that got cancelled and you promised us early access for the next tour @wembleystadium’.

‘I was wondering that too. We were definitely told we would be first in line for her next concert tickets,’ another added.

Their comments were not in vein, the concert goers who were supposed to see her tour some five years ago were promised ‘first access to purchase tickets’ at the event of a new tour.

A press release sent to disappointed Adele fans at the time wrote: ‘If you bought your tickets for these concerts, you will be receiving a refund for your ticket(s) and all ticket purchasers will be contacted by the end of the week to confirm further details of their refund…

‘In addition, the event organisers are exploring options to reschedule and anyone who purchased tickets for the cancelled shows will be given first access to purchase tickets in the event of rescheduled dates.’

Other fans recognised that the press release could have been only signalling to rescheduled dates at Wembley Stadium, which have not been announced.

However, many hoped that Adele and her team would have kept to her word and offered priority to those customers that lost out on the chance to see her last live show.

‘That’s Wembley’s committal to priority tickets for a rescheduled show, but I also think she should have her own committal to ensuring people’s tickets are honoured, no matter where the concert is,’ one fan expressed.

MailOnline has reached Adele’s representatives for a comment.

‘Im actually kind of freaking out because I want to go but I know Griffith is kind of pain in the a*s to go to. You already have to park a half a mile down the road on a regular day now Adele is performing there is probably hella people.’

The performance comes after it was reported that Adele was struggling to recruit celebrity chums to help with another part of the upcoming TV special – this time the part that will be filmed in Adele’s native London.

Showbiz agents were surprised last week when they received a request from staff working with Oprah on a programme for the US network CBS, asking for ‘VVIPs’ to take part in next month’s two-hour show.

In an email seen by The Mail on Sunday, the agents were asked to nominate A-list stars who will be available to take part in filming with Adele on November 6 at a secret London location and are recognisable to an American audience.

It is understood the footage will feature in Adele One Night Only – due to be screened on November 14 – alongside an interview with Oprah and a mini-concert by the singer, 33, featuring some of the tracks from her new album, 30.

One agent said: ‘This all seems very strange and unusual, not really something that happens when shows like this are made. You would have thought Adele would have friends queuing up to take part, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.’
