Food recalls are issued when a possible health or safety risk becomes apparent. Ald, Lidl, Tesco, and Morrisons have all shared warnings in recent days and weeks, telling customers not to eat specific products.
Tesco
Tesco is recalling various products.
The most recent product to be recalled by the supermarket is its Cottage Pie Baby Food because it may contain pieces of blue plastic.
This makes it unsafe to eat, therefore customers should return the product to their nearest store for a full refund.
The baby food comes in a pack 190g in size and has a best before date of June 12, 2022.
Another product Tesco is recalling is Eat Real’s white cheddar quinoa puffs.
The snack is being recalled because it may contain milk which is not stated on the packaging.
If you have a milk allergy or follow a vegan diet, Tesco said: “Please don’t eat this product. Instead, return it to a Tesco store, and we’ll give you a refund. No receipt is required.”
Asda
Asda has issued a recall on its Vegetable Cous Cous.
This is because the product may contain Salmonella.
All date codes up to and including June 3, 2021, are affected.
The supermarket is also recalling its Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie.
This is because it may contain traces of milk, even though it is a vegan product and milk is not declared on the packaging.
Asda has advised customers to return both the cous cous and pie to stores for a full refund.
No receipt is required.
