Matt Hancock was slammed as an “absolute part” on Question Time as the audience and panel discussed his casting as a campmate on I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here! Conservative MP Chris Philp claimed that Matt Hancock “shouldn’t be in Australia” as replied to the query raised by host Fiona Bruce.
Ms Bruce asked the MP: “So a A fellow Conservative MP described him…as an absolute prat for going into the Jungle.
“Would you agree with that?”
Mr Philp replied: “I think the audience have registered their verdict. But clearly going on this programme appears to involve doing embarrassing things on CCTV so I can’t imagine why they chose him.”
This remark was seen as a sly dig at Matt Hancock leaving his job as Health Secretary after being caught in a clinch with Gina Coladangelo on CCTV, violating his own COVID-19 guidelines.
When asked whether MPs should be allowed to participate in reality shows Mr Philp answered: “I don’t think they should be allowed, your question is a reasonable one. He has been elected by his constituency and it suffered.
“And no he shouldn’t be in Australia in the Jungle.”
