    An emotional Anthony Callea has paid tribute to his dog, Oscar, who passed away on Wednesday.

    The 38-year-old shared a series of collages showing their time together over the years alongside a lengthy heartfelt message, in an Instagram post.

    ‘Oscar… Cannot thank you enough for the love, happiness, joy and companionship you brought to our lives for over 13 years. Our home and lives will never be the same without you!’ he began.

    ‘I’m sitting here having a big cry over you… and if you were here right now I know exactly what you’d do, you’d see me, come and put your head on my lap and look up at me,’ he said.

    The former Australian Idol star thanked his pup for being ‘the best walking buddy’ and for keeping him company when his singer husband, Tim Campbell, was away for work.

    ‘I’m definitely going to miss our chats… You seriously were the only one that always agreed and thought I was always right,’ he humorously added.

    Anthony went on to thank their family and friends for showing love to Oscar, and made special mention of his parents who cared for him when he and Tim spent a year in Los Angeles.

    Tim, 46, also shared an emotional tribute to Oscar, who ‘was peacefully put to sleep after 13 unforgettable years’.

    Anthony and Tim began dating in 2008 and together adopted Oscar in that same year. 

    The couple eventually tied the knot in Auckland, New Zealand in 2014.
