‘It was so exciting because I love Adam McKay. I’m such a fan of his work. I’m such a comedy fan and I adore him,’ Ariana said of the director whose credits include: Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Step Brothers.

‘And he reached out and said, ”I have this role for you in my new movie.” And I was like, ”Oh, my god. Well, hold on, because I have to audition, I need to earn this, I need to put myself on tape”,’ Ariana revealed.

Ariana said the director told her an audition wasn’t necessary, because it was a ‘tiny quick thing’ and she then asked to read it.

‘I read it. I loved it. It’s brilliant. I have this tiny, but such a fun and incredible part. I feel so excited that I got to be a part of this. It was so cool,’ Ariana said.

Ariana said she portrays Riley Bina who is ‘this aloof and somewhat unaware popstar’ whose relationship with DJ Cello, played by Kid Cudi, ‘eclipses the news of the Earth coming to an end, which is great’.

Jimmy asked Ariana if more acting would be in her future.

‘I would love that. I hope so, yeah,’ Ariana said.

‘I personally would love that. I’m a little bit surprised that he hasn’t reached out yet. …For me to be on the remix of his most recent single titled, ”When I die, I hope I come back as a country boy.;’ I personally feel that I’m a a perfect fit for something like that,’ Ariana quipped.
