Arsenal fans have a wild theory that Jack Grealish will snub Manchester City and move to the Emirates Stadium after the Aston Villa star interacted with new Gunners signing Ben White on social media.

Grealish has been widely linked with a £100m move to Man City, with the Premier League champions hopeful of talks over a transfer intensifying next week.

The 25-year-old will next week return from his extended summer break after helping England reach the final of Euro 2020.

City boss Pep Guardiola is hoping to ramp up his transfer plans in the coming days following a frustrating summer and has earmarked Grealish as a target, alongside Three Lions team-mate Harry Kane.

But Arsenal fans have jokingly suggested that Grealish will turn down the Premier League champions and join Mikel Arteta’s revolution in North London.

The interaction prompted Arsenal fans to speculate about Grealish’s future.

A Reddit post in r/Gunners was set up and titled ‘Grealish waiting for his move to the Emirates’, accompanied by a screenshot of the comment.

Supporters continued to suggest that it meant the England man would join.

Grealish has previously said that Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is his favourite venue to play football.

“Pleasure to play at this place,” he wrote in an Instagram story after featuring against Arsenal for Villa in September 2019.

“My favourite stadium in the Prem.”

Arsenal boss Arteta is understood to want another new midfielder this summer, despite a couple of recent additions in the role.

However, it is unlikely that the North Londoners will be able to rival City for the £100m-rated playmaker.

Thomas Partey was signed in a £45m deal from Atletico Madrid in January, with Arsenal activating a release clause in his contract.

Arteta has since added Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to his ranks.

Lokonga, 21, has arrived from the Belgian side in a £14m transfer and will be a long-term option for Arteta’s midfield.

Arteta and technical director are expected to continue to be busy in the transfer market, despite the £50m acquisition of White.
