    Murray Bartlett has revealed that filming a rather racy gay sex scene for the comedy-drama White Lotus was really just a day at the office. 

    The hit show features Murray’s character Armond and Lukas Gage’s character Dillon engaging in analingus, also known as rimming. 

    And while the scene has been described by some as ‘shocking’, Australian actor Murray, 50, says he and Lukas, 26, were simply being ‘playful’ on set.

    ‘There wasn’t a lot of talk outside of the moment of what we were playing with. And I love that way of working, You’re just exploring,’ he tells Logo. 

    ‘So I didn’t have a lot of questions and I feel like he didn’t really need to explain a lot of stuff. We just played,’ he added. 

    Speaking to Digital Spy recently, Murray added that he was glad to be part of depicting a sex act that was not often seen on TV screens.

    ‘I also love that it’s not something that we see very often,’ he told the publication. 

    ‘In terms of the function of the scene, I think the shock value of that for people who are not used to that kind of… configuration of intimacy, is really brilliant.’   

    The miniseries, which is created and directed by Enlightened creator Mike White, traces the interactions between the resort staff and a series of demanding guests who are accustomed to getting their way.

    Murray plays the high-strung manager while Lukas depicts his laid-back surfer employee.  

    Connie Britton stars as the oblivious CFO of a wellness company, while Steve Zahn plays her husband who’s worried he might have cancer.

    Jennifer Coolidge appears as a wealthy woman struggling to cope with the recent death of her mother, and Alexandra Daddario and Jake Lacy play a newlywed couple on their honeymoon.
