Annabelle O’Regan and Lauren Jenkins were the first women to be sent home during Wednesday night’s season premiere of The Bachelor.

And a source has now revealed why Jimmy Nicholson decided to send Annabelle packing after just a few hours in the mansion.

A production insider claimed Annabelle recognised the 31-year-old pilot after seeing him on a dating app and questioned why he was on the show.

‘Bel thought Jimmy was a privileged kid who was still enjoying the playboy lifestyle,’ the insider told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.

‘Jimmy has never had a shortage of female attention and [Bel] questioned why he was even on The Bachelor,’ they added.

The source alleged Bel was sent home after she expressed her concerns to another contestant who then reported her to a producer.

Apparently, the producers ‘didn’t want that negative attitude’ towards Jimmy on set.

Daily Mail Australia understands Bel sought comfort from former Bachelorette ‘villain’ Pascal Wallace following her departure.

Fans will remember Pascal was infamously booted from Elly and Becky Miles’ season after he was caught bad-mouthing them in the mansion.

‘They’ve known each other for a while. Pascal comforted Bel as she felt she’d wasted her time and was going to be humiliated on TV,’ a source said.
