    Beanie Feldstein rocks stylish earth tones during Variety’s LEGIT!: Return to Broadway in New York City


    Beanie Feldstein rocked some stylish earth tones to celebrate the return of Broadway during Variety’s LEGIT!: Return to Broadway.

    The 28-year-old actress spoke on stage during the event, held at Second in New York City on Tuesday.

    Her appearance at the event comes as she prepares to step into Barbra Streisand’s shoes, starring as Fanny Brice in the Funny Girl revival debuting Spring 2022.

    The actress was donning a brown dress with grapevine prints that fell past her knees for the event.

    She also wore silver hoop earrings and a number of rings on her fingers during the Broadway event. 

    The actress completed her look with black platform heels at the event, as she spoke about the theater industry returning after an 18-month hiatus due to COVID-19.

    Feldstein steps into some pretty big shoes, taking over the role that made Barbra Streissand famous, Fanny Brice in the Funny Girl revival.  

    When asked if she’s nervous about taking on such an iconic role, Feldstein said, ‘I’ve always been nervous. But Funny Girl takes it to a different level.’

    When asked about putting her own spin on such an iconic character, Feldstein said, ‘My job is to play Fanny Brice. It all comes back to Fanny herself, and that’s what I have to focus on.’

    Feldstein can currently be seen on the FX drama series Impeachment: American Crime Story, playing Monica Lewinsky.

    The new season chronicles the scandalous tryst between U.S. President Bill Clinton (Clive Owen) and Lewinsky, and her friend Linda Tripp (Sarah Paulson), who secretly recorded phone calls between her and Lewinsky.

    The series also stars Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, Margo Martindale as literary agent Lucianne Goldberg and Edie Falco as Hillary Clinton.

    Feldstein is currently filming writer-director Richard Linklater’s new musical comedy Merrily We Roll Along.

    The story follows Franklin Shepard (Blake Jenner), a talented Broadway composer who abandons his theater career in New York and all his friends in order to produce movies in Los Angeles.  

    Feldstein plays Mary Flynn in the musical, while Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt plays Charley Kringas.
