Blue Ivy also received a writing credit on the song, which earned her first Grammy Award in March for Best Music Video.
She was the second-youngest artist ever to win a Grammy, just behind eight-year-old Leah Peasall, who won Album Of the Year as one of the various performers on the O, Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack.
Blue Ivy winning a VMA is quite fitting, since her mother Beyonce used the VMA stage to subtly announce that she was pregnant with Blue Ivy almost exactly 10 years earlier.
