Biden blasted as 'despot' after 'railing against enemies' in speech aimed at Trump

Joe Biden has been blasted as a “despot” after he “angrily railed against his enemies” in a speech challenging Donald Trump for not accepting the 2020 US Presidential Election result. Mr Biden, who previously held the position of Vice President under Barack Obama, defeated businessman-turned-politician Donald Trump by seven million votes two years ago.

However, Mr Trump refused to accept defeat and instead put forward the unsubstantiated claim that the election was rigged in Mr Biden’s favour.

Looking back at Mr Trump’s reaction to the 2020 result, Mr Biden yesterday warned that the 45th President’s false claims about a stolen election have “fuelled the dangerous rise of political violence and voter intimidation over the past two years”.

The 46th President added: “There’s an alarming rise in the number of people in this country condoning political violence or simply remaining silent.”

His comments come just days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband was seriously injured following an attack with a hammer in his California home last week.

However, foreign policy analyst Nile Gardiner appeared to slam Mr Biden after he delivered his speech.

Mr Gardiner said: “Delusional Joe Biden sounds like a despot, angrily railing against his enemies as imperial Washington crumbles around him.

“A sorry and pathetic sight as the world’s superpower sinks under the disastrous Biden presidency.”

In a subsequent tweet, the former aide to Margaret Thatcher added: “Joe Biden’s speech tonight was so insane and out of touch with reality that America’s allies must literally be fearing for the future of the free world right now.
