Big Brother's Sarah Jane Adams, 66, is slammed by fans who claim she plays on her age

She was an early fan favourite, but Big Brother viewers have since turned on housemate Sarah Jane Adams.

Many fans have accused the 66-year-old of using her age to advantage as she inches towards the show’s highly anticipated finale. 

Viewers have flocked to Twitter in recent weeks to slam SJ, who they’ve claimed plays up her age on the show.

‘Well and truely [sic] can not stand SJ. Stop with the age card, we get it already,’ tweeted one viewer.

Added another: ‘Many people have absolutely complained about SJ using the age card’.

After entering the Big Brother house, SJ said she was hoping to ‘prove to people that you can all put yourself outside of a comfort zone and fly’, despite her age.

In an interview with New Idea magazine in May, she claimed her age was her ‘superpower’ in the Big Brother house.

‘My age is far from a hindrance – it is my superpower,’ she said at the time. 

‘My focus is using this awareness to strategise how to get further in this game. I am completely aware that I can only truly put trust in myself.’

She added: ‘I would not wish to be any younger today or tomorrow, than I am at the present moment’.

The jewellery designer and influencer boasts over 203,000 followers on Instagram, thanks to her quirky style and zest for life.

In an interview with Marie Claire Australia in December 2017, SJ tried to explain her sudden burst in popularity.

‘I think folks are intrigued as I’m older than your average Joe, travel a bit and I guess take a few more risks and have more adventures than most,’ she said.

After popularising the hashtag, ‘#MyWrinklesAreMyStripes’, SJ said she sees her wrinkles as a ‘badge of honour and a mark of roads travelled’.

‘My wrinkles do not scare me, they show me and therefore my experience,’ she added.
