Body is found in hunt for missing woman, 42, who asked taxi driver to drop her off at Beachy Head

A body has been found in the search for a missing Surrey woman who was dropped off by a taxi at Beachy Head.

Police issued an urgent appeal after Natalie McCallum, 42, from Leatherhead was last seen being dropped off near the East Sussex beauty spot at 11.40am Wednesday.

A body was discovered at around 12.30pm Thursday, with formal identification yet to take place.

Ms McCallum was white, 5ft 8in, of slim build with shoulder-length dark brown straight hair.

She was last seen wearing dark coloured leggings with a dark brown jacket, brown wide brimmed cowboy style hat and calf length dark coloured boots.

According to her Facebook page, she had been married for 12 years and had two sons.

Surrey Police said in a statement: ‘A body, believed to be that of missing woman Natalie McCallum, was found in Beachy Head earlier todaye (21 January).

‘Natalie, 42, was reported missing yesterday afternoon (20 January). The discovery was made at around 12.30pm.

‘Although formal identification is yet to take place, Natalie’s family are aware and being given the appropriate support. Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
