Brooke Blurton reveals a bizarre new rule in The Bachelorette mansion… and it’s going to be very bad news for viewers

The upcoming seventh season of The Bachelorette has broken ground as the first series with an Indigenous and bisexual lead.

Both men and women will be vying for Brooke Blurton’s affection, leading viewers to assume there could also be romances between the contestants in the the mansion.

But this is now looking less likely to happen because Brooke, 26, has revealed the men and women on the show will actually be housed in separate mansions.

This means there won’t be any relationships between the men and bisexual women; however, there could still be same-sex entanglements in the women’s mansion.

Brooke confirmed the housing situation in an interview with Yahoo, adding: ‘This whole season is run completely differently, having both males and females.

‘I think the show will be reverted back to its core which is about finding love, and there will be drama obviously, but I think the whole purpose of the show is finding my person and I’m hoping that kind of reverts back to the wholesomeness of it.’

The youth worker didn’t reveal if there was a secondary love story on the cards for her season, but said she was ‘open-minded about that being a possibility’.

‘It’s inevitable to happen, but I feel like it would be hypocritical of me to stop a connection from happening because love is love,’ she continued.

‘It’d be obviously disheartening if you had a very strong connection with either of those people, but I think you kind of just have to ride the wave.’

While it’s unclear whether any of the other contestants will fall for one another on the new season, lead star Brooke did confirm she’d found love.

She excitedly revealed last week she’d chosen someone special and was enthusiastic for what’s ahead.

‘I’m really, really lucky, and I’m really excited about the show airing and about my relationship,’ she told Stellar.

It’s a third-time’s-the-charm scenario for Brooke, who previously failed to find love on Nick Cummins’ season of The Bachelor in 2018 and 2019’s Bachelor in Paradise.

The Bachelorette premieres Wednesday, October 20, at 7.30pm on Channel 10
