Xbox fans could be treated to a whole year of free games thanks to a deal from BT. The broadband firm has just announced the launch of a new offer which includes the popular Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no extra cost.

For those that aren’t aware, this Microsoft subscription plan allows Xbox console owners to play over 100 games for a small monthly fee with new titles being added on a regular basis.

This Ultimate option also features other benefits including being able to play games on mobile devices and PCs as well. And don’t think for one minute that this plan includes ageing games that you won’t want to play as part of Games Pass you get access to titles such as FIFA 21, Forza 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection – there’s even access to Microsoft’s new Flight Simulator.

This premium version of the streaming service usually costs £10.99 per month but BT is offering it free for a year to anyone who signs up for its Full Fibre Max 900 broadband. This is the firm’s best broadband with users also treated to speeds of around 1Gbps – at that rate, it would take just seven minutes to download a blockbuster title to your console.

If Full Fibre Max 900 sounds too fast then there’s also the option to get six months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via Full Fibre Max 500.

This plan offers speeds of around 500Mbps which is still around seven-times faster than the current UK average.

Even if you already have BT broadband and are locked into a contract, you can still take advantage of a discount with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costing £10 per month via the MyBT account – that’s a £1 saving.

In other broadband news, there’s now a way to get blisteringly quick broadband on a budget. To celebrate its 10th birthday, Hyperoptic is offering its very best 1Gbps speeds for just £20 per month – that’s a £40 saving. This high-speed technology allows you to download a full HD blockbuster movie in under 40 seconds.

This deal ends on October 20 so don’t hang around if you too take advantage of this huge saving.
