She wrote alongside a glum faced selfie: ‘So lately I’ve been undergoing lots of medical stuff, ruling out certain conditions etc.

‘At the minute, what I’m presenting to docs (after ruling out all other things via bloods, scans etc) is pointing towards fibromyalgia.

‘Symptoms I’m having are: Total exhaustion, horrific pain all over, bone aches, muscle aches, headaches.’

She went on: ‘Feeling “out of it” and unable to properly process information. Does anybody suffer from this and have any tips on how to manage it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated…’

    WHAT IS FIBROMYALGIA?

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition defined by widespread pain and fatigue.

It affects up to 2.7 per cent of people worldwide, with three women suffering for every one man, studies suggest.

Fibromyalgia is often triggered by a trauma, such as a car accident or childbirth, as well as infections. Why this occurs is unclear.

The discomfort tends to be felt as aches and burning from head-to-toe.

And the fatigue ranges from feeling sleepy to the exhaustion of having the flu.

Severe sufferers are often unable to work or socialise.

The pain can be worse at some times than others and may change location, such as becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used the most.

Other symptoms can include headaches; IBS; diarrhoea or constipation; poor concentration; dizziness; allergies and stimuli sensitivity, such as to light or heat.

Studies suggest the average patient waits five years to be diagnosed, which is thought to be due to X-rays and other medical tests not picking the condition up.

It is generally defined as pain that lasts for more than three months and affects 11 or more out of 18 tender points when pressed.

Treatment aims to relieve pain and aid sleep.

The post comes after the star recently confessed that she would marry her current boyfriend.

She revealed this after a follower asked her in a Q&A on her stories if she would ever get married, to which she wrote: ‘yes.’

Of late, the reality star has been showcasing her new dress size and promoting body positivity on her page.

Embracing her healthier state of mind, Chanelle has taken to Instagram to talk about health in a series of videos where she showed off her new body.

The star has been open about her weight-loss, earlier this year disclosing that she had been under the knife and received gastric band surgery.

In the Q&A with her followers she disclosed that she is currently a healthy nine stone.

Previously having struggled with her weight she has managed to lose a huge 8 stone following the surgery.

The star’s weight has fluctuated dramatically over the past few years as her unhealthy relationship with food saw her weight creep up to 17 stone in 2019.

Now, showcasing her new healthier and happier mindset she hopes to promote body positivity and empowerment with her own weight-loss story.

In an interview with The Sun, the mother-of-two has shared how gastric sleeve surgery helped her curb her compulsive eating habits and develop a healthy relationship with food.

Reflecting on how fame exasperated her desire to be ‘skinny’, Chanelle recalled: ‘My life post Big Brother, my eating habits got worse, everyone I hung out with in London was even smaller than me, so I felt so big. They all took drugs, which I guess explains why they were thin, but that was not something I was into.

‘I was living in hotels and would not eat anything all day, if I got absolutely starving I would eat a tin of tomatoes with hot sauce, then take laxatives, I thought I was setting myself up for this amazing life but in truth I was always on my own and it was so lonely.’

At 8.5 stone, Chanelle moved up north to Wakefield to live near family but found she had begun to binge on food when she fell pregnant with son Blakely, now 11.

The television personality found herself in a vicious cycle of overindulging on takeaways, feeling guilty and then trying to compensate for her actions by taking laxatives and overexercising.

By 2013, Chanelle’s weighed 13.5 stone and was offered a chance to lose weight and make money by signing a contract with a slimming pill company, and lost 5st in four months.

Yet three years later, a failed relationship and now a single mum to two boys, Chanelle found her food addiction ‘totally out of control’ and weighing 14.5stone.

‘People just thought I was greedy but I was beyond the point of control and my addiction was really taking hold. I decided to have gastric sleeve surgery in 2020 after going up to 17st 4lb,’ Chanelle said.

Before undergoing the procedure, the reality stars said ‘lived like a hermit for a year’ as she felt ‘so ashamed’ of her weight.

But the gastric sleeve surgery has given the BB star a new lease of life. Now weighing 9.5 stone Chanelle says she is the ‘happiest I’ve ever been both physically and mentally’.

The television personality admits while she would love to remove her 34F breast implant and ‘doesn’t love her loose skin’ but is trying to ’embrace her body’.

Chanelle said the surgery was a last resort and she had it because ‘I was an addict and felt powerless’, and that having it can ‘save your life’.
