Angling for compliments! Chrissy Teigen pulls on her waders as she tries her hand at fly-fishing with husband John Legend… after celebrating 50 day sobriety milestone

The stresses of city life were far behind Chrissy Teigen on Tuesday as she joined husband John Legend for a spot of fly-fishing in rural California.

The TV personality embraced her rugged surroundings while making a game first-time attempt at the popular pastime.

Taking to Instagram, Teigen, 35, documented their day out with a series of photos as they pulled on their waders and fished along a rather shallow looking stream – with decidedly mixed results.

But despite failing in her quest for a substantial catch, the mother-of-two admitted she was won over by the angling technique, and couldn’t wait to give it another go.

Captioning the images, she wrote: ‘The joy of your first fly-fishing fish!! very fun, very satisfying, would do again 5 stars!!!’

Other snaps taken on the day suggested she was occasionally distracted by the camera, with Teigen striking a pose while standing ankle deep in the free-flowing water.

The couple were getting back to basics after Teigen revealed she’s in the ‘longest streak yet’ without booze after first experimenting with sobriety back in November following her tragic pregnancy loss.

Teigen had been open about her complicated relationship with alcohol in the past and also has a history of alcohol abuse in her family, but confessed to the possibility of drinking again some day.

‘Today is my 50 day sobriety streak! it should be nearly a year but I had a few (wine) hiccups in the road. this is my longest streak yet!,’ she began in a short Instagram video.

‘I still dunno if I’ll never drink again but I do know it no longer serves me in ANY way. I don’t get more fun, I don’t dance, I don’t get relaxed. I get sick, fall asleep and wake up sick, having missed what was probably a fun night.

‘I had my fun with it and appreciate anyone that can enjoy it responsibly!!!!,’ she continued to say and also confessed that she had worked out three days this week which ‘is unheard of for me.’

Teigen first got sober in late November and announced just days ahead of the new year that she had reached four weeks.

She embarked on the journey as a way to help herself heal following the loss of she and Legend’s son ‘Jack’ due to partial placenta abruption in late September at just 20 weeks.
