It was a family outing this weekend for blonde bombshell Christie Brinkley and two of her three kids.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model, 67, was seen on a dock in Sag Harbor on Long Island in New York in a festive summer outfit as she headed to Marie Eiffel Market for chicken and French fries on nearby Shelter Island.

Also with her was daughter Alexa Ray Joel, 35, and son Jack Brinkley-Cook, 25, who brought along his Danish girlfriend, Nina Agdal, 29.

Brinkley wore her long locks down over her shoulders as she had on a blue print blouse with white rolled up overalls as she carried a beige straw hat with a black ribbon.

The looker added red-and-white espadrille shoes and had on a chunky metal watch.

And proving she was in the mood to soak up the sunshine, the Vacation star added dark sunglasses.

The cover girl was seen greeting eldest daughter Alexa, whose father is crooner Billy Joel of Piano Man fame.

Alexa wore a cropped denim jacket over her print maxi dress with high heels and added a scarf over her hair while looking glamorous in oversized sunglasses.

The lounge singer is engaged to Ryan Gleason.

The family then met up with Jack and his girlfriend Nina while on a speedboat.

Nina wore her hair in pigtails as she added a bucket hat and had on a crisp white shirt as well as Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Last month Brinkley said she thinks ‘ageing is the last frontier’ for the modelling industry.

The model thinks the business has evolved markedly over recent decades, but she still thinks ageism remains a problem.

She explained: ‘Women tell me that they want to see themselves in there. They want to be stylish but they don’t want to look like they’re trying too hard. They want to be represented.

‘I’ve been in this industry for 47 years now and I can’t begin to tell you how much it has evolved, but ageing is the last frontier.’

Despite ongoing issues, Christie remains in love with her job and is desperate to keep working.

She told The Times newspaper: ‘I’m too young not to be working. I love my job.’

Christie was once told that her career would be over by the time she was 30.

But she was on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine at the age of 63 alongside her daughters – Sailor, 22, and Alexa.

The shoot was arranged at short notice, meaning she didn’t have time to diet ahead of appearing with her daughters.

Speaking about her approach to the shoot, she explained: ‘I thought, ‘Well, it’s all about body positivity today, so que sera, sera.’ And with those two beauties, who’s looking at the old broad in the middle, right?’

Christie underwent hip replacement surgery last year, after she was injured in a helicopter crash in Colorado in 1994.

The model took to Instagram to share a series of snaps of a snorkeling trip, one of which showed a large band aid covering her hip area.

She captioned the post: ‘New Year, New Hip! Yes that’s a band aid on my hip.

‘I injured my hip in a back country skiing helicopter crash on a mountaintop in Telluride many years ago. The pain in my hip got a little bit worse each year. 12 years ago I was told it needed to be replaced but the surgery was daunting ! And I had things to do!’

Brinkley says having a hip replacement was ‘really depressing’.

The siren revealed in January that she had undergone a hip replacement to fix an injury from 26 years earlier, when she was in a backcountry skiing helicopter crash.

And now, Christie has explained the operation made her feel ‘old’, and left her upset at the thought of getting older.

She said: ‘I started feeling like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is how you get old.

‘It was really depressing so I thought, you know what, I’m going to start to whittle away at it. I’m going to do whatever it takes. I’m going to start to whittle away at this and I thought the hip is what scares me the most. Let me check in on the hip.’

But after having the surgery, Christie couldn’t be happier with the difference it has made to her life.

Offering her advice to anyone else who is putting off medical care, she told the Dr. Oz Show: ‘I tell you for people at home, go speak to the doctors. Find out what they can do for you. You know the more you learn about it the less afraid you will be and don’t be afraid because you know what these surgeries can do now. The way they have perfected them is really amazing.’

The beauty’s comments come after she previously marked her birthday in January by revealing the huge difference her hip surgery had made.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘I am overjoyed to be able to move my body again. I am getting stronger every day, and I like think I’m ready for anything … a hike, swim dive, paddle, ride, ski

This comes after Brinkley is ‘determined’ to lose her lockdown weight. The supermodel put on ‘a couple of pounds’ during the lockdown period, but she is keen to drop that weight as soon as she can.

Speaking to Extra, she said: ‘I did put on a couple pounds. I dragged my Total Gym into my bedroom. Getting out and gardening is a lot of work … We’ll take the boat to a deserted beach and we’ll do speed walks or running … I’m determined to get back to my fighting shape.’
