Fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have shared how to remove hair from plug holes on Facebook. Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, rose to fame after sharing her cleaning and tidying tips on social media and TV. Now, Mrs Hinch has over 4.1 million followers on Instagram and has authored several books.

Another user replied: “I put hair removal cream down, leave for a bit then put a kettle of boiling water.”

Another said: “Squirt it down all the plug holes especially the bathroom ones, leave for no longer than five minutes, pour boiling water out of the kettle down. Hair should have dissolved.”

However, other users were more cynical of the hair removal cream hack.

“It doesn’t actually dissolve the hair? It just breaks the root,” replied one user.

Some users recommended other options such as using bleach, hot water or drain unblocker.

One user said: “If you put baking soda, vinegar and boiling water down your drain that should dissolve the hairs.”

Another said: “I use Tesco sink unblocker and pour a bit down now and again and it gets rid of hair.”

Another replied: “Mr Muscle drain unblocker, leave down five minutes then pour water down the drain – unblocked every time.”

Another said: “I use the Cillit Bang drain unblocker, works great.”

Another cleaning fan said: “I just plunge once a month (three of us with long hair here).

“Get loads up and no chemicals. Just a cheap plunger, had it years.”

Some users recommended putting a cover over the plug hole to catch the hairs so they don’t end up down the drain.
