Coronation Street and Emmerdale ‘BAN cast members from OnlyFans’ after Hollyoaks sacked Sarah Jayne Dunn over 18+ subscription site

Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars have reportedly banned cast members from joining OnlyFans.

It’s claimed that ITV bosses have issued new rules that will allow their stars to cash in on their fame, but will not tolerate advertising ‘adult entertainment’ which could bring the channel into disrepute.

It comes after Sarah Jayne Dunn was sacked from her £120k a year job on Hollyoaks last week for refusing to leave the x-rated OnlyFans.

With plenty of big TV names earning a fortune on social media, it has been reported that Corrie and Emmerdale have now spelled out ‘in black and white what’s deemed unacceptable.’

According to The Sun, the ITV soaps have informed their stars what shows they can star in, and what they can flog and promote online so that it doesn’t reflect badly on the channel.

The move reportedly will also allow cast members to post paid advertisements – but only with the producers’ blessing – to prevent them from quitting the shows because they make more money online.

A source told the publication: ‘Stars like former Corrie actor Helen Flanagan are inundated with opportunities to promote products on platform including Instagram.

‘And earnings can often dwarf any salary actors get paid on the soaps, meaning it can be more lucrative to leave the shows to effectively sell goods.

‘This is simply a smart way to ensure they can still advertise products while remaining on the shows.

‘But they spell out in black and white what’s deemed unacceptable – as previously it’s been a grey area.’

The list of goods which are banned also includes alcohol, gambling, tobacco, vaping, fireworks and financial products.

ITV have reportedly just introduced the rules and will review them in three months time.

MailOnline has contacted Emmerdale and Coronation Street for comment.

It comes a week after Sarah Jayne Dunn lost her job on Hollyoaks over an OnlyFans row.

The actress – who reportedly earned a whopping £7,200 in just a week after joining the X-rated subscription service – will no longer appear on the show as character Mandy Richardson after discussions with producers.

A spokesperson for the Channel 4 soap said that they ‘take their responsibility to their young audience very seriously’ and were ‘very sad to see her go’.

Sarah has played the role of Mandy on-off since 1996.

Last month Sarah explained her decision to join the website popular with celebrities such as Lottie Moss and Kerry Katona in a bid to ‘take back control’ after years of doing lads mags.

In a statement a Hollyoaks representative said: ‘Hollyoaks is a youth-facing drama with many young viewers, who follow our cast very closely, both in the soap and outside of it.

‘We take our responsibility to our young audience very seriously and therefore the show does not allow any Hollyoaks cast members to be active on certain 18+ websites.

‘We had hoped we could reach a resolution with Sarah that would allow her to remain in her role as Mandy, but we respect her choice to continue to produce content on OnlyFans.

‘In the past four years since her return to the show her legacy character has been an integral part of some our most important storylines and we will be very sad to see her go.’
