    Courtney Act reveals the ‘relatable’ reason she turned down pop icon Cher’s invitation to Christmas dinner


    Courtney Act received a very coveted invitation to Christmas dinner at Cher’s house – but the famous drag queen turned the pop star down. 

    Speaking to The Project on Friday, Courtney (born Shane Jenek), 39, says she is good friends with Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, 52, who extended the offer.  

    ‘One Christmas, Chaz invited me to Christmas at his mum’s house. And, I said no!’ RuPaul’s Drag Race star told the show’s panel of hosts.

    ‘I had plans for Christmas with other friends. I was like… Sorry, I can’t,’ she explained. 

    Courtney had made some ‘relatable’ previous plans that she could not cancel. 

    ‘But I will be really relatable now, because the Christmas plans with the other friends was a yacht in the Bahamas. Sorry, Cher!’ she added.

    Courtney was recently named as a a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars: All Stars. 

    The show will premiere next year on Channel Seven.  

    After being announced as a contestant on the show, Courtney shared a post on Instagram to more than 1.3million followers.

    Courtney has also released a memoir called Caught in the Act by Shane Jenek AKA Courtney Act.   

    It has been described as an ‘often hilarious and at times heartbreaking memoir from a beloved drag and entertainment icon.’
