UFC chief Dana White has appeared to suggest Tyron Woodley should now call time on his career after a fourth straight defeat.

Woodley was overpowered in the co-main event of UFC 260 by the up and coming Vicente Luque, in what White labelled the ‘fight of the night.’

In the aftermath however, White brought up Woodley’s age along with the fact that the defeats are now starting to pile up.

When asked about the showdown, he told reporters in a press conference following the event: ‘Fight of the Night. They came to fight.

‘Obviously, Luque, a rising star, a kid on the up, and Woodley, who takes a lot of criticism.

‘That kid came to fight tonight and he went out on his shield tonight, man. He came to fight.’ White said.

‘Listen, how old’s Tyron now? 39? That’s four in a row. Yeah.’

Woodley was submitted by Luque in the bout, in what served to be a money-spinner for both men, handing them each a purse in the region of $50,000 (£36,000).

Veteran star Woodley entered the contest on the back of losses to each of to Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, and Colby Covington.

White’s word seem to offer Woodley the chance to hang up the gloves and bow out on his own terms, rather than being purposely phased out from the UFC.
