Darwin Nunez injury fears emerge as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp singles out West Ham duo

West Ham were awarded a penalty shortly before half-time after VAR adjudged Joe Gomez to have fouled Jarrod Bowen. However, Bowen was unable to take the opportunity.

His low effort was pushed away by Reds goalkeeper Alisson to keep the score at 1-0. The visitors pushed hard in the second half and came close to equalising on a number of occasions.

But Liverpool held on for a vital win to move up to seventh in the Premier League table. Klopp continued to heap praise on Nunez for his performance and what he can bring in the future.

He added: “He is an exceptional talent. You can see that, his runs, the speed he has, the physicality, the finishing skills are absolutely exceptional.

“He has a really good technique but doesn’t use them all the time and sometimes is in a bit of a rush, and the first contact goes a little bit somewhere. Everything there we are really excited about but most of the time when you’re young you have time to develop, but you have to develop, and that’s what we are working on.”
