Realised earlier this month, plant-based ingredients safe for pooches to enjoy are made from real fruit purees, ranging from strawberry, apple and banana flavours.

The cooling treat arrives just in time as the country headed into soaring summer temperatures over the weekend, with some areas reaching almost 30 degrees.

Each tub sold by the Wiltshire-based dessert company will donate five percent of their sales towards looking after all the animals at Battersea.

On Friday, July 16, the pet charity Tweeted: “Introducing for Dogs! Soft ice creamDog face Not only is it pet-friendly and a total hit with the dogs of Battersea, we’re delighted that we will also receive five percent of the proceeds from every tub sold to help us care for our animals.”

In another post on their website, Battersea highlights the importance of dog owners to keeping their cool in the warm weather.

They said: “As well as fun in the sun it’s important to think about staying safe in the heat, especially for the canine members of the family.”
