Ahead of Prime Day on June 21, there are a ton of early Prime Day discounts on must-have smart home products, from 58 per cent off Amazon Echo Buds to great savings across Ring Video Doorbells and Blink home security devices.

Today, Prime members (sign up for a free 30-day trial) can save 42 per cent off the Ring Video Doorbell Wired and Chime bundle in this early Prime Day deal.

Now £45 (usually £78), the Ring Video Doorbell Wired allows you to see who is outside your door at any given time via your smartphone. And the Chime plugs into a socket and makes a doorbell sound to alert you of visitors when you’re at home.

With prices this low, there’s no way of knowing how quickly this bundle will sell out, so if you want to upgrade your home, you’ll want to add this deal to your basket ASAP to avoid missing out.

One of the most affordable smart doorbells, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired, as the name would suggest, has to be wired in place of an existing doorbell – it’s not battery-operated, so it does require a bit of DIY to install. However, one shopper stated, ‘anyone with basic DIY skills can do it’.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired has a full HD camera with a 155-degree field of view and can detect and record motion with alerts.

A great way to ensure you never miss a delivery; when someone presses the doorbell, you’ll receive a notification via the smartphone app, and you’ll be able to connect to a real-time live view.

Plus, the two-way microphone and speaker allows you to speak with whoever is on your doorstep.

It’s smaller and more discreet than other Ring Doorbells yet offers the same clear audio and video recording in 1080p HD. You can also purchase different coloured faceplates (£13.99) from blue and silver metal to blush pink for a customised look.

As with all Ring Doorbells, you can enjoy a free trial of Pring Protect for 30 days, allowing you to record, review, and download doorbell clips. At the end of the free trial, you can continue your subscription by subscribing on ring.com for only £2.50/month per device or £8/month per household.

On Amazon, the popular smart home device from Ring has received praised-filled reviews from shoppers who say it’s ‘great value for added security’, noting how it’s ‘easy to install and set up’. One Ring user even went as far as to say it’s ‘the best Ring to get!’.

‘Ring has nailed it with their cheapest WIFI doorbell ever made,’ one shopper wrote in their five-star review. ‘It has full HD video with a 6-second pre-roll.

‘Even though it’s a lot cheaper than their expensive big brothers, it has the same build quality as the rest of the line-up.’

‘I had to make my own 45-degree bracket, but apart from that, the set-up was straightforward,’ another commented. ‘My Echo Dots now announce someone is at the door, and I can talk to them via my phone. I think you can talk to them via the echo dots, but I haven’t worked that out yet.

‘My phone sends updates if it detects motion or someone has pressed the doorbell. It saves the video footage from these events. Great value for money, and the subscription is only £2.50 per month. I hate subscription services, but £30 per year for added security is worth it.’

‘It’s about time Ring bought out a smaller device with a lower price point, and this bit of kit does not disappoint,’ a third wrote. ‘Being hardwired, it mitigates the need for rechargeable batteries which are both an added expense and a pain to keep swapping!

‘Had it installed in about 20 mins. The most time-consuming thing was hiding the cable feed to the door. Night vision was a nice surprise, very crisp and detailed picture for such a small device.

They added: ‘Hands down excellent value for money and thoroughly recommended.’
