EastEnders' Sid Owen details plans for a stellar wedding guestlist with Al Pacino and Adele invited 

Sid Owen has revealed his plans for a stellar wedding guestlist, with invitations set to go out to the likes of Al Pacino and Adele.

The 49-year-old soap star – renowned for playing Ricky Butcher in EastEnders – is engaged to Victoria Shores, 42, and the pair are also expecting a baby. 

Simon Konecki, Adele’s ex-husband, will be Sid’s best man, but the Chasing Pavements songstress will not be left off the guestlist.

When asked if Adele would be attending the big day, the London born actor told The Sun: ‘Well she’s not with my best friend Simon any more but, of course, out of respect she will be invited.’

He also emphasised that the former flames remain good friends and still get on very well. 

Sid was keen to secure his former Revolution co-star, Al Pacino, 81, a spot on the invitation list after revealing that The Godfather legend once said he would love to adopt him.

‘I’ll invite Al Pacino,’ Sid said, ‘funnily enough Dexter Fletcher texted me a couple of weeks ago to say congratulations on my book and he said he was with Al, who sends his best.’

The former singer popped the question to waitress Victoria last month ahead of their baby’s birth next January.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said: ‘I never ever dreamt I would have kids. The older you get the more distant that idea seems.

Sid continued: ‘You give up hope sometimes, so it is a miracle it has happened. We’d spoken about it when we talked about marriage but I just didn’t think it was going to happen. I was completely shocked and over the moon.’   

The couple know the sex of their baby but have chosen to keep it a secret for the time being. 

He added he’s pleased he’s coming to fatherhood later in life as he doesn’t think he’s have been a good dad in his 20s.
