Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined in with those laughing at the shin pads he wore against San Marino, amusingly joking on Twitter he had stuffed custard creams down his socks.
Calvert-Lewin netted twice for England on Thursday night as they thrashed minnows San Marino 5-0 at Wembley, with James Ward-Prowse, Raheem Sterling and Ollie Watkins also getting on the scoresheet.
But despite his goal-scoring heroics, it was Calvert-Lewin’s choice of shin pads that garnered most of the attention at Wembley.
