England coasted past San Marino, as expected, with a number of players seizing their chance to impress Gareth Southgate.
Jesse Lingard was a constant menace against the lowest ranked side in world football and Ben Chilwell also starred.

Nick Pope – Had just three touches of the ball in the first half such was England’s dominance. Albania and Poland will be tougher outings. 5
Reece James – Produced some beautiful crosses into the box from the right flank. So comfortable on this stage. 7.5
Conor Coady – Had very little defending to do but that didn’t prevent the Wolves defender from being the loudest on the pitch. 7
John Stones – A comfortable return to international football for the central defender. Bigger tests are on the horizon. 7
Ben Chilwell – Plenty of joy down England’s left. Set up England’s opener and continued to create chances for his team. 8

Kalvin Phillips – The most defensive minded of England’s three was efficient in the engine room. Tided up effectively when it was necessary. 7
