Kate Ferdinand has confirmed she has no plans to have more children any time soon, insisting she would be a ‘madwoman’ to do so after giving birth to son Cree in December.
The former TOWIE star, 29, who is also a stepmother to husband Rio Ferdinand’s three children, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, asserted she doesn’t need ‘any more tears’ in the bustling household.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she also highlighted the importance of being candid and honest about motherhood in the face of unrealistic standards perpetuated on social media.
Not happening: Kate Ferdinand has confirmed she has no plans to have more children any time soon, insisting she would be a ‘madwoman’ to do so after giving birth to son Cree in December
‘I think four is enough, there’s already a lot going on and lots of crying,’ she said. ‘It’s a busy house. So I think I’d be a madwoman if I wanted anymore! Four is plenty for now.’
Content with her current family set-up, she gushed over her husband, 42, and said: ‘Rio has been amazing with Cree, he’s a wonderful dad, the kids love having the little one too!’
Kate has been open about the challenges she has faced since welcoming Cree, as she admitted earlier this month that exhaustion and anxiety had reached an ‘all-time-high’ following the birth.
The mother needed an emergency caesarean section while in labour, which she is still recovering from after not being able to walk for six weeks.

According to Kate, the difficulties she has faced as a parent aren’t always truthfully portrayed or discussed on social media.
She said: ‘It’s important to be honest on Instagram and share your feelings, even if I’m feeling down, emotional or haven’t managed to do something that I was planning on doing.
‘I feel like a lot of the time, people aren’t open, especially when it comes to pregnancy or becoming a new mum. They always want to put up the best picture without showing the reality.

‘I used to put a pressure on myself to look a certain way and to keep on top of my fitness, but I feel like I’m a lot more comfortable now being open and honest with myself.
‘There’s so many bits of advice I feel like I missed out on during pregnancy which people just don’t talk about, like having a C-section.
‘It is a major surgery and because it was an emergency operation, it was traumatic and a lot to heal from. I am just trying to listen to my body and accept the changes.

‘I used to love being on top of my fitness but now I have to let myself heal and not rush things. I don’t need to beat myself up about it.’
The reality star shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex in 2015 before turning her back on the limelight in 2017 after sparking up a romance with former Manchester United and England legend Rio.
While she is known for her incredibly stylish outfits and impeccable appearance, both on and off the show, Kate insists she doesn’t always have time to dress up and is happy rocking a make-up free, laid-back look.

She continued: ‘I think people have this perception that I’m glamorous all the time because of what they see on Instagram, but a lot of the time I like to just wear comfortable clothes, no make-up and I’m rushing around looking after the kids. You don’t need to be glamorous all the time and that’s OK too.
‘You don’t realise how tired you will become [having a baby]! I knew with having three older kids it can be tiring but being a mum to a newborn is a whole new level.’
Kate added that she sometimes struggles to find time for herself, but thinks it’s important to maintain some sort of balance.
Speaking out: According to Kate, the difficulties she has faced as a parent aren’t always truthfully portrayed or discussed on social media
She continued: ‘I think when he goes to sleep it is a good time to do something for myself. I also try to make sure I spend time with the other kids too, they don’t want to be attending baby classes and there’s certain activities they want to do.’
Speaking of her first night out in a year with friends in April, she continued: ‘I had a great time, it was so nice to catch up with all the girls because I haven’t seen anyone in so long, so it was nice to feel a sense of normality.
‘It was something we had taken for granted before and now we realise how important it is to have that time with your friends.’
Be yourself: ‘I feel like a lot of the time, people aren’t open, especially when it comes to pregnancy or becoming a new mum. They always want to put up the best picture without showing the reality,’ she said
Embracing her life as a mother to a tiny tot, Kate has teamed up with WaterWipes, which she credits for reducing Cree’s nappy rash.
Speaking about her staple baby products, she said: ‘I religiously use WaterWipes, they are now clinically proven as the No.1 wipe against nappy rash.
‘I want to use the purest ingredients for Cree and it means he’s less likely to get nappy rash and, if he does, it doesn’t last as long compared to other brands, which for me is a no brainer!’
