‘I will never rely on a man to fund me’: Ferne McCann admits she previously wanted to ‘find a banker’ but now loves making her own money ‘as she is revealed to be worth £5.5m’

Ferne McCann has insisted she will never ‘rely on a man’ to ‘fund’ her as it is revealed she is reportedly worth £5.5million.

The former TOWIE star, 31, has made her fortune through her own reality show First Time Mum, her fitness app Embodyment as well as several brand and endorsement deals.

Speaking to The Sun, Ferne admitted she would previously go out in London ‘trying to meet a banker’ but later decided she wanted to make her own money.

She said: ‘I’ve been that girl on a Friday night going into London, dressed up to the nines, trying to meet a banker, and I’ve dated footballers. But I will never stop working or rely on a man to fund me and give me what I want.’

Ferne, who is mother to daughter Sunday, three, said she wants to teach her she can achieve anything she wants.

She said: ‘It’s important I teach my daughter that if you want some-thing, you can absolutely achieve it if you work hard enough. I’ve had guys who could have given me an easy, comfortable life but it doesn’t excite me.

‘I want to work for myself and provide for my daughter. I take great comfort and can sleep happily at night knowing I can look after us both. It’s rewarding knowing that I’ve made that happen for us.’

Discussing her career, Ferne said the reality TV market has become ‘so saturated’ so participants have to be more unique to break out from the crowd.

The Essex native said it’s a misconception that reality stars don’t work and that she is always looking for new opportunities.

The star, who has previously appeared on shows like I’m A Celebrity and Celebs Go Dating, added she is ‘very aware’ she might not always have the opportunities she has now and so says yes to everything.

Ferne said her parents instilled a strong work ethic in her and she got her first part-time job in a hair salon at 14.

Her father was a commodities trader and her mother a sports therapist, with Ferne admitting she had a comfortable upbringing.

Ferne, who has been single since splitting from model boyfriend Jack Padgett, told how she is done with dating and wants the next man who comes into her life to be the one she has a family with.

Ferne was pregnant with her daughter Sunday when then boyfriend Arthur Collins threw corrosive acid over a crowd on the dance floor at Mangle E8 in Dalston in April 2017, within weeks of their pregnancy announcement.

He is currently serving 20 years for the acid attack. Sixteen people suffered chemical burn injuries and three people were temporarily blinded.

Her reality show First Time Mum began as a one-off in 2017 after Ferne welcomed Sunday but the series proved an instant success and the star has now wrapped the eighth series.
