Frank Sinatra's friend weighs in on whether Ronan Farrow was his biological father

Frank Sinatra’s ‘closest confidant’ Tony Oppedisano poured more cold water on the long-standing rumor that the late crooner secretly fathered Pulitzer Prize winner Ronan Farrow.

‘There are only two ways Frank could have fathered Ronan, both absurd,’ Oppedisano wrote in his book Sinatra and Me – hitting shelves Tuesday – according to People.

‘Either Mia [Farrow] made a secret trip to shack up with Frank in his California home with [fourth wife] Barbara present. Or Frank, wearing his always romantic colostomy bag, made a quick trip to Connecticut between his Atlantic City performances.’

‘Absurd’: Frank Sinatra’s (L) ‘closest confidant’ Tony Oppedisano poured more cold water on the long-standing rumor that the late crooner secretly fathered Pulitzer Prize winner Ronan Farrow (R)

Tony claimed Sinatra was too ill following his emergency diverticulitis surgery in late 1986, and that his schedule nine months before Ronan’s December 1987 birth was too busy.

‘If Ronan had been Frank’s son, Frank would have acknowledged him,’ Oppedisano insisted.

‘People say, “Take a look at [Ronan]” and I say, “Well, take a look at Mia at the same age.” They look like twins. I’ve got blue eyes too and I’m not Frank’s son.’

The 76-year-old actress admitted she ‘never really split’ with the nine-time Grammy winner despite him blindsiding her with divorce papers on the 1968 set of Rosemary’s Baby.

In 2013, Mia told Vanity Fair that Ronan could ‘possibly’ be Frank’s biological son, but his daughter Nancy told CBS in 2015 that it was ‘nonsense’ because he had a vasectomy before 1986.

‘In my opinion, he’s my child,’ filmmaker Woody Allen told Vulture in 2018.

‘I think he is, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. I paid for child support for him for his whole childhood, and I don’t think that’s very fair if he’s not mine.’

‘I appreciate how hilarious it is. I mean, it’s a ridiculous situation. That said, I’m pretty unfazed by it in substance, because it’s been out there both publicly and privately for so long,’ Ronan (born Satchel) told Vulture in 2013.

‘You know, I have a relationship that I’m very happy with, you know, with all parties involved. For me, the imperative is “Alright, we’ve talked about it, I get a kick out of it, everyone gets a kick out of it.”‘
