Freida Pinto reveals that she and husband Cory Tran secretly eloped during the COVID-19 lockdowns

Freida Pinto is married. 

The actress, who turned 37 on Monday, revealed on the Kelly Clarkson Show that she and her partner Cory Tran eloped during the COVID-19 lockdown. 

Clarkson asked the Slumdog Millionaire star how wedding planning was going to which the actress replied, ‘We’re already married.’

‘It’s a very romantic story if you must know,’ she said. 

‘When we got engaged we thought we’d have this most magical wedding, but then COVID happened and it’s still happening and we just realized we’d be planning this for the rest of our lives and never doing it.

‘So we decided one day to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim. Honestly, I have to say if any of you have planned a wedding, you probably know this, I do not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding.’

After their nuptials, Pinto said the couple went home and took an afternoon nap.   

The couple were first seen together in 2017 but made their relationship public at the 2018 U.S. Open.

They got engaged in 2019 and revealed even bigger news this summer. Pinto told her Instagram followers that she was pregnant. 

She recently hosted a backyard baby shower to prepare for the coming of her first child. 

The Immortals actress channeled Mother Earth in her flowing white gown that displayed her prominent baby bump.  

The Slumdog Millionaire actress wore her raven hair down past her shoulders and parted in the middle as she glowed.

While she’s had a lot on her plate personally, the Rise of the Planet of the Apes actress’ career has remained busy. 

She started shooting the Sky Original film A Christmas Number One back in July. The movie centers around a young woman who tries to help her uncle find love and career success before Christmas. 

In addition, Pinto has roles in upcoming projects such as Mr. Malcolm’s List and a lead role in the television miniseries Spy Princess.
