Gareth Bale theory emerges as Aaron Ramsey proves transfer point in Wales Euro 2020 win

For Bale, however, there will be a significant factor for potential buyers to consider aside from high wage demands.

The Real Madrid forward struggled to make any impact whatsoever in the Dragons’ opening group stage game against Switzerland and was limited in the final third once again against Turkey.

Bale will turn 32 next month and the days of the Welshman being considered as the focal point of attack may soon be over.

His positioning at varying stages of the Turkey contest was intriuging to see, with the Cardiff-born forward almost acting as a playmaker as opposed to a goalscorer.

Bale’s expert vision shown to set-up Ramsey’s goal was perhaps an indicator that he may soon be able to take up a new, deeper position in the team – one that fans may not have expected to see this soon.

There were flashes of brilliance from the 31-year-old, who won a penalty and set up the second goal, but the power and pace that graced the Premier League during his first spell appears to be a thing of the past.
