    Genesis have been forced to cancel the final four shows of The Last Domino tour due to positive COVID tests with the band. 

    The group announced the news via Twitter on Friday, using lead singer Phil Collins’, 70, official feed to reveal the news, just hours after they had taken to the stage.

    The detailed thread began: ‘A statement from Genesis….

    ‘Following guidance and advice from the Government, it is with huge regret that the final four shows of Genesis’ Last Domino? Tour (this evening (8/10) at Glasgow SSE Hydro and 11, 12, 13 October at The O2 in London) have had to be postponed…

    ‘..due to positive COVID19 tests within the band. We are working to reschedule them as soon as possible and will announce the new dates through our website (http://genesis-music.com) and social media channels as soon as possible.’

    It was then revealed the band, also comprising of Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, are ‘devastated’ by the ‘unlucky’ turn of events.

    ‘All tickets will remain valid and ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket providers. This is a hugely frustrating development for the band who are devastated with this unlucky turn of events,’ the announcement continued.

    The statement concluded with: ‘They hate having to take these steps but the safety of the audience and touring crew has to take priority. They look forward to seeing you upon their return.’

    A representative for Phil confirmed that he hasn’t tested positive for COVID.

    The disappointing news comes after fans were concerned with his ‘unwell-looking’ appearance. 

    The Easy Lover hitmaker, who recently admitted he’s ‘no longer able to play the drums’ in the wake of recent health woes, still delighted fans with his performances on the tour, despite remaining seated for the shows.

    Last month Phil sparked concern among fans when he made an appearance on BBC Breakfast confessing he can ‘barely hold a drumstick’ following his health battles, with the star been seen using a wheelchair after undergoing back surgery.

    Twitter was awash with worry from viewers and fans, who noted his weakened state as he was interviewed about Genesis, during which he said: ‘No [I can’t still play the drums]. I’d love to. But I mean, I can barely hold a stick with this hand.’
