Germany steal world record & gold from Team GB: Laura Kenny and team fight not enough

    Laura Kenny’s dream of yet another Olympic gold was dashed after the German team closed the gap and went on to win in the 4000m race. Germany beat Team GB’s world record during the qualifying rounds, beating their record by 1.715sec with the German side once again beating that record with a time of 4:04.249. Laura Kenny’s medal count now reaches five as pundits banked on the Olympian to take another gold during the finals.
