    And in 2019, the 40-year-old also earned himself a Gold Logie nomination for being Channel Seven’s go-to man for giggles. 

    In addition to being on-air talent, he’s also dabbled in radio, improv – and he’s even recorded a track with The Wiggles.

    On Thursday, the roving reporter shared a throwback photo from his high school days where is he seen holding court on stage, in front of a microphone. 

    ‘Where it all began….My first EVER emcee gig, I was in Yr 9 & Karen Steed asked me to host her fashion parade,’ he reminisced.   

    Of course, the man in the photo is none other than lovable larrikin Sam Mac, from Sunrise. 

    Sam went on to explain he was extremely excited to host at the time – but it did come with a few conditions.

    ‘I wanted the 5 saddest looking balloons she could find on a wall, I wanted a Jay Jays sticker hastily slapped on an antique lectern,’ he said.

    ‘I insisted that she find me a suit with identical dimensions to Spongebob Squarepants,’ he continued. 

    This is not the first time Sam has shared images from his younger years.

    Posting to Instagram, Sam shared a childhood photo during his first concert. 

    ‘I’ve just discovered that my first ever concert was to see PETER FREAKING COMBE! #Iconic,’ he began his caption.

    Peter Combe is an ARIA-award winning children’s entertainer.

    In the picture, taken in 1987, a smiling Sam is seated in front of the popular singer.
