    Halo star Pablo Schreiber shows off his scarred back as he suits up in iconic Master Chief armor in new teaser for the upcoming live-action series


    Paramount+ released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action Halo series. 

    The teaser showed American Gods actor Pablo Schreiber suiting up in the iconic Master Chief suit. 

    After he puts on his green helmet, the artificial intelligence Cortana says, ‘Hello, Master Chief’ before the trailer cuts to a titled screen that read, ‘Halo: New Series Streaming 2022.’

    Schreiber’s character Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is a super soldier living in the 26th century. 

    He is a major fighter for humanity in a battle between humans and aliens part of a threat known as the Covenant. 

    The Truman Show actress Natascha McElhone will play a role in the series, and Jen Taylor, who voiced Cortana in the video game series, will reprise her role in the television show.

    The live-action adaptation has been in the works for years. Production began on the nine-episode season in 2019. It was originally supposed to air on Showtime but moved to Paramount+ in February 2021. 

    The Last Ship writer Steven Kane will serve as showrunner on the program for the first season but will not return to the program if there is a second season. 

    Halo is currently in post-production and will begin streaming next year.

    Paramount+ has a number of projects besides just Halo coming out soon. 

    The Frasier reboot, which is set for release some time next year, will see Kelsey Grammer reprise his role from the hit 1990s sitcom.  

    The streamer service recently announced that Lizzy Kaplan will play a major role in the upcoming Fatal Attraction series which does not yet have a release date.
