    James Stewart treats participants from The Salvation Army’s Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation centre to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Home And Away set as he raises funds for the charity

    James Stewart was on a charity mission last week. 

    The Home and Away Star, 45, showed some very worth VIP guests around the set of the soap.

    This exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunity allowed some participants from William Booth House, The Salvation Army’s Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation centre, to experience the excitement of visiting Summer Bay.

    They were also able to meet some of the stars of the show, as well as being able to share some of their own journeys.  

    The participants were all huge fans of the show, so it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them all.   

    With James’ character on the show, Justin Morgan, suffering from drug issues, it was particularly poignant for him to hear the stories and experiences of the clients.

    The clients also had the special chance to meet and take photos with some of the other stars, such as Courtney Miller and Kawakawa Fox-Reo.   

    To top it all off, they bumped in to long-time supporter of The Salvos Ray Meagher while they were leaving. 

    The legendary actor, who plays Alf Stewart,  kindly chatted and took selfies with the participants.

    The visit coincided with The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal which is currently underway.

    The money raised from the Red Shield Appeal funding over 2000 vital Salvos centres and services across the country, including William Booth House. 

    The Salvos are aiming to raise $32 million by June 30, and anyone who is in the position to give, can donate to the Red Shield Appeal at salvationarmy.org.au. 

    Home And Away is one of Australia’s most beloved and longest running TV shows, airing since 1988.
