Jack Grealish to 'hand in Aston Villa transfer request' ahead of £100m Man City move

    Jack Grealish will hand in a transfer request to pursue a move from Aston Villa to Manchester City when he returns from his summer holiday, according to reports. 

    The Premier League champions are believed to be willing to smash the English transfer record by offering £100million for the playmaker.  

    Grealish is set to return from his extended break next week, having been part of England’s heroic run to the Euro 2020 final.  

    But City have reportedly made a huge offer for the 25-year-old and talks over a move are widely reported to be advanced.  

    Grealish has spent his entire career at his boyhood club but it now seems likely that he might depart this summer.

    Kane will also reiterate his desire to leave Spurs when he returns. 

    The Three Lions captain has previously said that he wants an “honest” conversation with Daniel Levy about his future.  

    Kane wants to depart the North Londoners in pursuit of trophies, which are one of the few accolades that have alluded the 28-year-old during his senior career. 

    Guardiola is expecting positive developments on the transfers of Grealish and Kane next week as he finally begins stepping up his plans to defend the Premier League title.

    Just four senior players returned to City’s pre-season camp for the first few weeks of their training. 

    Riyad Mahrez, Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho and Scott Carson were the only players not involved in the Euros, the Copa America or the Olympics.  

    A City team mixed with first-team players, fringe individuals and academy prospects defeated Preston North End 2-0 at the City Academy last week. 

    Guardiola’s side face just one more friendly before their season gets underway next week. 

    City will play against Barnsley on Saturday. 

    A Community Shield tie against Leicester City at Wembley Stadium next weekend might be used as one more fixture to prepare for the campaign.  

    City qualified to play in the even due to their Premier League success. 

    They finished top and 12 points ahead of runners-up and rivals Manchester United.
