‘At least he’s a little bit bigger now’: Jake Quickenden reveals concern for son Leo as seven-month old prepares for hernia operation after original surgery was delayed by 6 weeks

Jake Quickenden has admitted he’s worried as his son Leo is being admitted to hospital this Thursday for an operation.

The reality star recently had to attend hospital after rupturing his pectoral and bicep whilst filming Celebrity SAS, leaving his tendons ripped off the bone.

Posting on Instagram, he admitted to being concerned about baby Leo – his first child with fiancée Sophie Church – who was born in February.

He said: ‘So as many of you know Leo was booked in for his operation about six weeks back and because he had a cold they weren’t able to operate.

‘We’ve just had a call and it looks like he’s getting his operation this Thursday.

‘So that’s a bit of a worry but at least he’s a little bit bigger now. Before he was a lot smaller and stuff like that. He’s a bit bigger and they obviously know what they are doing.’

He added: ‘They wouldn’t do it if it weren’t needed so Sophie has to take him. I’m not allowed to take him. The only way I can go there is if he has to stay in then I can go visit for a couple of hours but hopefully he won’t have to stay in. You are so strong aren’t you Leo.’

Leo is suffering from a hernia and although doctor had initially hoped it would go away of its own accord he needs a procedure to avoid it causing further damage down the line.

Jake said previously: ‘So it turns out he does need a little operation, he’s not in pain but where it is in his groin it can strangulate and get into his testicles pretty much.

‘It’s pretty worrying but we have to wait about six weeks for the hospital to get in touch.

‘But it’s better to get it sorted if it can cause any future troubles and he seems pretty happy, he’s not in pain as I said.

‘Better to get it sorted, it’s just worrying. I’ve had a lot of lovely messages, so thank you for reassuring me.’

During a question and answer session with fans the singer also refused to say whether he’d had his COVID-19 vaccinations.
