Jesinta Franklin’s hopes of reuniting with husband Buddy come to a crashing halt as the Sydney Swans relocate to Victoria during her 14-day Queensland quarantine… as bosses fight to fly the WAGS to Melbourne

Jesinta Franklin and her two young children are due to be released from their mandatory 14-day quarantine in the Gold Coast on Thursday.

But the model’s hopes of reuniting with her Sydney Swans star husband Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin have come to a crashing halt, as it was revealed earlier this week that his team have been relocated to Victoria amid Queensland’s Covid outbreak.

The 29-year-old model left Sydney almost two weeks ago with daughter Tallulah, one, and four-month old son Rocky with the intention of joining the Swans and Giants in their Queensland pods.

But she along with over 100 other WAGS and loved ones now face disappointment, after Queensland’s Delta outbreak and announcement of a three-day lockdown over the weekend saw the Sydney teams uprooted for a third time.

The team fled to Melbourne on Sunday, and will likely remain in Victoria for the rest of the season.

Jesinta has yet to comment on the Swans’ move, but has been counting down the days until she could reunite with her doting husband, 34, after spending weeks apart.

On July 25, she shared a photo of Tallulah captioned: ‘Hotel Quarantine day 3… 11 days closer to daddy. We are going to have some amazing stories to tell Lulu and Rocky ! I’m taking so many pics and videos to show them when they’re older.’

Daily Mail Australia have contacted Jesinta for further comment.

It comes amid reports the stranded WAGS could be whisked over to Melbourne as early as Friday, and finally reunite with the players.

According to The Herald Sun, the AFL is prioritising jetting families over to Melbourne without a further lockdown period.

On Monday, league chief executive Gillon McLachlan said: ‘We’re having good discussions with Victorian health about them reuniting with the clubs down here.

‘Those conversations are going well. There may be some obligations on that, but I’m positive.’

The hope is to transport the quarantined group from Brisbane on a chartered flight to Victoria, so they would have no contact with the Queensland community.

Swans coach John Longmire added: ‘They get out of quarantine late Thursday afternoon, so we’re relying upon the powers that be to be able to reunite.’
