John Krasinski responded to Amy Schumer’s joke that he was in a ‘pretend marriage’ with his wife, Emily Blunt, in a now-deleted Instagram post that was shared on Sunday.
The 39-year-old comedienne began her post by telling her 10.5 million followers that she had recently seen A Quiet Place II and expressed that she was happy to have watched it in person as opposed to screening the feature at home.
The actress wrote: ‘I loved every second of @aquietplacemovie! even better than the first one which blew me away. Amazing to be in a movie theater!!’

The Trainwreck star went on to assert that the film’s leading actress and director were not serious about their relationship before noting that the film was still worth watching.
Schumer expressed: ‘I’ve said for a long time I think Emily and John have a pretend marriage for publicity. But I still think you should see it this rainy weekend.’
Krasinski, 41, took the assertion in stride and humorously thanked the comedian for exposing the truth behind his relationship in a public forum.
The actor-director posted a note in the comments section that read: ‘Thank you Amy!… for blowing up our whole marriage spot.’

The Office actor and his 38-year-old wife have been romantically connected ever since 2008 when they initially began their relationship.
Prior to dating her now-husband, Blunt was connected to Michael Buble, whom she dated for three years.
The actress and Krasinski went on to announce their engagement in August of 2009, and they tied the knot the following July.
The two later welcomed a pair of daughters named Hazel and Violet, aged seven and four, respectively.

The film follows a married couple who attempt to keep their children safe in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by sound-sensitive aliens.

A Quiet Place was met with widespread critical acclaim, with many reviewers pointing to the performances of the pair as particularly strong.
Blunt and Krasinski reprised their roles in the recently-released A Quiet Place Part II, which also received highly positive critical reception.
The director recently opened up to Oprah Daily and spoke about how his spouse initially questioned his desire to film a sequel to the original film, although she eventually came to realize that the project had potential.

Krasinski also discussed how he focused on the Abbott family further in the sequel, as he felt that he could add more elements of horror to the story by following the now-fatherless group.
‘Once I realized that was happening, organically, the movie can become bigger and scarier because it’s all about the characters. If you’re more scared about them, then the movie’s going to feel scarier,’ he said.
