John Stamos fires back at politician Omar Navarro who said ‘flamboyant gay’ character in Cruella movie ‘ruined’ his childhood

John Stamos posted a cheeky comeback to a California politician who tweeted his objections to the gay character in the new Cruella film.

The complaint came from Omar Navarro, a Republican who has run for Congress unsuccessfully three times to unseat Maxine Waters.

‘The new Disney Cruella with Emma Stone just ruined my childhood with an openly flamboyant gay in the movie,’ wrote Omar.

He was referring to John McCrea’s character Artie who is pals with Emma Stone’s character Estella – the future Cruella De Vil.

‘Disney persist shoving the LGBT agenda down our throat,’ added Omar, who went on to urge his followers: ‘RT if you are going to Boycott Disney.’

John Stamos responded with a tongue-in-cheek remark about his family sitcom Full House which made him a star in the 1980s and 1990s.

Bob Saget plays a widower who finds himself unable to raise his three daughters alone and so moves his brother-in-law (John) and a pal (Dave Coulier) in to help.

John quoted Omar’s tweet about his childhood being wrecked and joked: ‘If that ruined your childhood, I hope you didn’t watch Full House. Three single men, living under one roof raising kids in San Francisco….’

Omar, who is 32 and was a child when Full House was on, has had a history of legal trouble over the past few years.

He pled guilty in 2016 to putting a tracking device on his wife’s car and then spent several months of last year in jail for stalking an ex-girlfriend.

After emerging from jail last year he filed to run against Maxine Waters yet again – this time in the 2022 midterm elections.

Cruella stars Emma Stone in the origin story of the title character and features her pal Artie as the first openly gay character in a live-action Disney film.

Emma Thompson plays the villainess of the movie Baroness Von Hellman and recently revealed the cosmetic look was partly inspired by Joan Collins.

‘My wonderful makeup designer, Naomi Donne, actually drew quite a lot from darling Joan Collins, who couldn’t be nicer but who’s played some real meanies,’ said Emma.

She told Variety: ‘She has wonderful narcissism, and of course, that’s what Baroness has got to the nth degree. She’s dreadful.’
