‘There’s another song called You’re My Girl, I actually started writing it for a friend of mine, as we didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl, but now it’s turned into a song for my daughter and I sing it to her and she starts to laugh.’

Joss confirmed she gave birth via caesarean section following a ‘tiring’ labour experience as she and her partner appeared on Facebook Live earlier in the year

Joss and Cody gushed ‘she’s the prettiest thing in the world’ as they cradled their newborn at home for a surprise edition of their Cooking With Joss series.

She shocked fans when she brought her three-day-old child on screen, joking: ‘I had a little bun that I’ve been making for about nine months, and it’s cooked! Here’s one we made earlier… she’s so sweet!’

Award-winning artist Joss went on to reveal Violet was in the breech position as she detailed her challenging birth story.

Coordinating with her baby in leaf print PJs, the Kent native shared: ‘This is Violet Melissa, isn’t she sweet? She’s just fed and she’s eating her hands because that’s her little vibe, isn’t it?

‘She was breech so I had to have a C-section which was delightful… I’m tired. Cody has been amazing, totally worth it. They had to take her out the sunroof which was quick. Doctor Lee, we love you!’

The songwriter said she was unaware of their baby’s sex during her pregnancy – as she added: ‘We didn’t know she was a girl until that moment. I wanted a girl, but I didn’t want to tell anyone that – nothing against boys.’

‘I called it from the first ultrasound, we had a feeling’, Cody chimed in. ‘She is three days old. She’s the prettiest thing in the world. She’s my perfect girl. I have the two most beautiful girls in the entire world.’

Joss also praised her beau for his support, enthusing: ‘Cody did all the changes and everything as I was completely drugged and couldn’t do anything. I can breastfeed now, and it really hurts, but it’s awesome.

‘The nurses came in and they were like: ”This is not normal, your guy is amazing!”’

‘We just wanted to let you know that she’s here. Thank you for all the advice and the name choices, you guys had some good input’, the blonde signed off the video.

The media personality first shared she’s expecting her first child during her A Cuppa Happy last October.

Joss said at the time: ‘Guess what? I am going to have a little baby! I am so excited to talk to you [Ella Mills] because I don’t know many pregnant women. I am week 17 and I just stopped being sick all the time.’

Of her labour fears, the Tomorrow star went on: ‘My boyfriend kept saying to me, ‘Pain is temporary. Temporary, it is temporary!

‘Oh my God it is horrible! Leave me alone! I am just going to cry!

‘I woke up in the middle of the night – randomly – and I was like: ‘Oh my god I am really scared!’ I just got really terrified of having to push it out!’

It is unclear how long the duo have been dating and information about their romance and Cody is sparse.

In 2019, the Empire star admitted she was close to resorting to an arranged marriage because she couldn’t find love.

The Super Duper Love songstress has previously dated men in the music industry but said before her current partner she ‘couldn’t find a man’.

Joss said she has been inspired by watching reality TV shows about matchmaking and commented ‘when it goes well, it’s lovely and so romantic’.

The star added that she loved 90 Day Fiancé which is ‘hilarious’ but awful’ as people can be on the show for the wrong reasons.

She said: ‘Sometimes they really are in love, and I always want it to work out. When it goes well, it’s lovely and so romantic. I love romance: I’ve also started watching Indian Matchmaker.

‘I considered arranged marriages before I met Cody, because I couldn’t find a man.’
