Jurgen Klopp a 'big fan' of Liverpool transfer target as new £30m asking price emerges

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a ‘big fan’ of Wolves ace Adama Traore, who would cost the Reds around £30million.  Klopp could do with signing a new forward this summer after seeing his side misfire in the last Premier League season.

Traore has been excellent for Wolves over the past couple of years and would add extra guile and quality in the final third.

Mohamed Salah shouldered most of the goal-scoring responsibility in the Liverpool team, finishing on 22 league goals.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane scored a combined 19 goals, just a year after the latter managed 18 alone.

Traore is not a regular scorer but would add a different dimension to Liverpool’s attack.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson all returning from their injuries might convince Klopp that he does not need further additions.

The Anfield hierarchy triggered the £36m transfer release clause in Ibrahima Konate’s RB Leipzig contract, but the Frenchman remains Liverpool’s only summer signing.

Klopp has instead turned to the club’s young players during pre-season.

Decisions on the futures of their best talent is yet to be made, with 19-year-old sensation Harvey Elliott impressing in a renewed central midfield role.

“I don’t know. With a few of the younger ones, maybe we have to think about going out on loan, stuff like this, is it the right moment? There’s no final decision yet,” Klopp told the club’s official website at the start of pre-season.

“These first few days, it’s not the time to think about that because that’s the moment when they all can show up.

“I prefer to get positively surprised of some of the boys where I think: ‘Oh my God, I didn’t expect him [to be] that close already.

“We have so [much] movement in the squad if you want, there’s so many players who could step up.

“For different reasons, the last season was maybe not theirs but that doesn’t mean from now on it will always go backwards.

“There’s a chance to make the right steps in the right direction. They were close to the first team but didn’t play often enough. The door is open.

“A lot of midfielders are not here, so come on, take the chance and play the best football you are able to do and then we immediately get options – it’s always like having new signings.”
