Royal fans have praised the sneak-peak trailer for the BBC’s Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers programme, released earlier today. In the short clip, Charles, William, Harry and the Duke’s granddaughter Zara Tindall all share fond memories of Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh passed in April, just shy of his 100th birthday.

Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers will air this month on BBC One and will include interviews filmed both before and after Philip’s death.

In the trailer, William appears first, as he says: “He’s always been a huge presence behind everything we have done really.”

Harry follows him, saying: “What you see is what you got with my grandfather. He was unapologetically him.”

Zara adds: “You never really prepare yourself for losing him because he was always there.”

The clip ends with Charles who says: “We were lucky to have him for nearly a hundred years.”

The family members speak over a montage of family video clips, including Philip riding bicycles with his children as the Queen chases behind them.

Another shows him drinking from a trophy and laughing.

The Duke of Cambridge’s remarks were praised by viewers online, with comparisons drawn to Prince Philip.

The viewer tweeted: “They have clearly moved on or are moving on and so should the rest of us.

“However connected the rest of us feel towards them, we are outsiders and Harry is part of the family and will always be.”

As part of the hour-long tribute, the Queen granted the BBC special access to her private cine-film collection.

The programme, which will air on Wednesday, September 22 at 9pm on BBC One, was originally produced to mark the Duke’s 100th birthday in June.
