Kate is set to team up with Dr Jill Biden later today, as the Royal Family unleashes its soft diplomatic power on world leaders. Kate and Dr Biden are meeting for the first time ever in Cornwall, where the G7 summit is taking place.
There, they will focus their joint engagements on a cause very close to the Duchess of Cambridge’s heart.
The pair will first take part in a roundtable about early childhood education.
Later, Dr Biden and Kate will tour a school in Hayle.
Both Kate and the First Lady have a keen interest in the early years.
The Duchess of Cambridge created a steering group in the spring of 2018 to research more into this topic.
In early 2020 she launched a nationwide survey focused to learn more about what the country thought the experiences made during the first five years of life can have on children’s development.
And in November the Duchess took part in a virtual forum unveiling the results of the survey, combined with further research and case studies.
With Prince William, Kate has also been a vocal supporter of the vaccination campaign across Britain.

On May 29, Kensington Palace published on its social media accounts a picture of the Duchess receiving her first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19.
Dr Biden also supported the US vaccination campaign and travelled across her country to urge people to get the jab.
During her first trip abroad as US First Lady, Dr Biden is accompanying her husband Joe Biden.
But the East Wing, her office at the White House, stated Dr Biden has several solo events planned during her stay in the UK.
Dr Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa told CNN: “The First Lady has an independent schedule of her own during the G7.
“At Royal Air Force Base Mildenhall on Wednesday, she spoke about the importance of supporting military families.
“She also hosted a roundtable with United States military spouses who are focused on the wellbeing and emotional health of service members and their families.”
Kate will also carry out another royal duty without Prince William during her day in Cornwall.
The Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Queen are to host a Big Lunch event at the Eden Project today.
Meanwhile, Prince William will join his father Prince Charles at the Prince of Wales’ reception or world leaders and CEOs of some of the world’s largest corporations.
There, they will discuss sustainable markets and discuss with them how to best tackle the climate emergency.
This evening, the royals will join politicians and their spouses at the Eden Project for a reception.
The Queen, who has never met the Bidens even when they were Vice President and Second Lady during the Obama administration, will meet them again on Sunday.
The day after the streamlined celebrations of her official birthday, the monarch will host Mr and Dr Biden for tea at Windsor Castle.
The presidential couple will also be treated to the Guards of Honour in the Quadrangle of the castle.
