Mother of the bride goes wild! Kathy Hilton is the life of the party as she joins forces with Paula Abdul for a duet at Paris Hilton’s star-studded wedding to Carter Reum

    • Paris tied the knot with Carter Thursday at her late grandfather’s Bel-Air estate
    • Kathy and Paula performed a duet together at the reception
    • They took turns on a chair, possibly a reference to Paula’s Straight Up video
    • Kathy and the singer appear to have been friends for years

Kathy Hilton and Paula Abdul both looked as if they were having a blast when they sang a song for the crowd at Paris Hilton’s lavish Bel-Air wedding on Thursday.

Paris’ 62-year-old mother and the 59-year-old singer and choreographer took to the stage at the reception to belt out a tune together.

Although it wasn’t clear what song the old friends settled on, they both took turns sitting backward on a chair, which may have been a reference to the chair used in an early video for Paula’s hit song Straight Up from 1988.

Paula looked chic in a plunging burgundy jumpsuit with ruffled pant legs.

The outfit featured semi-sheer sleeves, and she elevated her stature with platform heels.

Kathy looked effortlessly elegant in a black fishnet dress covered in gorgeous chandelier patterns made from silver sequins.

The outfit included a more revealing sheer panel over her chest, as well as sheer sleeves.

Although Kathy is one of the more reserved stars on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, she totally let loose while entertaining the reception crowd.

She and Paula gazed into each other’s eyes from opposite ends of the tiny stage as they crooned at one another.

Paris’ mother was also clapping up a storm for her collaborator while Paula was at the microphone.

The two women had a white chair on stage with them, and they appeared to take turns sitting backward in it and facing the audience.

Paula sang while sitting down and also tilted the microphone back so that Kathy could get in a line.

The socialite also took a turn sitting while Paula got up and continued to sing.

The two may have been recreating part of Paula’s dance with a chair in an alternate video for her iconic single Straight Up, which was released in 1989.

The official version of the video was shot after the song had already become a success on the charts by future Social Network director David Fincher.

The black-and-white clip featured Arsenio Hall with Paula and won four MTV Video Music Awards after becoming a mainstay on the network.
