Kim Kardashian wins over fans with hilarious club rap during Saturday Night Live debut

She first took a crack at making music back in 2011.

And 10 years after releasing her one and only hit, Kim Kardashian had fans calling for her to restart her music career after she was seen rapping in a hilarious club-themed music video during her Saturday Night Live debut.

The reality star, 40, joined Cecily Strong, Ego Nwodim and Punkie Johnson in the three-minute long parody clip, where she channelled her alter-ego Trish – a woman who constantly falls asleep in the club.

The track, titled Ladies Night, saw the four women rap about hitting the club for a night out while middle-aged, with the relatable lyrics leaving viewers in stitches.

Proving she’s a good sport, Kim was seen dancing and rapping her way through her verses, with her character hilariously unable to finish her lines without napping.

‘I know you little girls ain’t laughing at me, for your information I wasn’t asleep, I was resting my eyes, why you worry about me? But now I’m wide awake and…’ Kim raps before jokingly falling asleep on a random man’s shoulder at the bar.

Other scenes saw her passed out on a sofa and later dancing on the bar after a ‘power nap’, before the others beckon her over to head home.

‘What? Oh, well this was so fun,’ Kim says, as the defeated women head for the exit.

For some fans, Kim’s club rap was the highlight of her SNL debut and she seemed to leave many people surprised with her rapping talents.

‘I’m going to say it. Kim did way better than I thought she would,’ one person commented on the clip shared on YouTube.

One fan claimed: ‘This was Kim K’s funniest skit. This whole thing was so freakin hilarious.’

‘@KimKardashian SO PROUD OF YOU ON SNL!!! They got you to dance and rap THE GROWTH,’ tweeted one viewer.

‘Probably an unpopular opinion but I actually loved the @nbcsnl episode with @KimKardashian especially her little rap,’ tweeted another.

Another excited fan shared: ‘KIM IS STARTING HER MUSIC CAREER AGAIN ICONIC.’

Fans of Kim will remember she dropped charity track Jam (Turn It Up) in 2011, which saw her team up with record producers The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

It’s claimed she recorded the song after getting advice from ex-husband Kanye West and some of the money made from the song, after it was released on iTunes, was donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The track itself was widely panned by critics and Kim later confessed that she regretted making the song – admitting that she doesn’t think she has a ‘good voice’.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen three years after its release in 2014, Kim said: ‘It’s definitely a memory, and it was a fun experience. We gave the proceeds to a cancer organisation.

‘But if there’s one thing in life that I wish I didn’t do – I don’t like it when people kind of dabble into things they shouldn’t be. And that I don’t think I should have.

‘Like, what gave me the right to think I could be a singer? Like, I don’t have a good voice.’

As well as briefly reviving her short-lived music career during her SNL debut, Kim was seen poking fun at her famous family and ruthlessly impersonating sister Kourtney Kardashian – while mocking her PDAs with boyfriend Travis Barker – in one skit titled The People’s Kourt, which also included cameos from Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian.

Kim’s opening monologue also went down a storm with viewers, with the mum-of-four not only roasting herself over her previous sex tape, but saw her tease mum Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble for being a ‘gold digger’ and mock Kanye’s failed bid to run for US president.

She also poked fun at her sisters, as she joked she was more than just a ‘reference photo’ her siblings show their plastic surgeons.

Other skits saw her joined by comedian Amy Schumer for a Bachelorette spoof and Pete Davidson, where she and Pete surprised viewers by locking lips.

The pair were dressed up as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine for the tongue-in-cheek Disney-inspired segment that saw them kiss, after Aladdin asked the genie to grant him his wish to have a bigger penis.

Reports revealed that Kim was a smart choice to host SNL, with her appearance on the show boosting ratings following a poor series opener that saw Owen Wilson as host at the beginning of October.

It’s claimed Kim’s episode saw viewer figures overall increase by 23 per cent.

Kim’s October 9 hosting stint earned a 3.8 household rating (live and same day) and a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, per Nielsen.

Comparatively the season 47 opener with Owen Wilson on October 2, garnered a 3.5 household rating and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 range, which is the show’s target demographic.

Following Kim’s SNL episode airing her mum Kris was seen praising her ‘rockstar’ daughter on Instagram, as she revealed she is so ‘proud’ of Kim.

Kris wrote: ‘I’m so so proud of my amazing daughter Kim!!! She absolutely crushed one of the hardest stand up gigs in the world!!!! She is an absolute ROCKSTAR and I’m so proud of this accomplishment!!! Not only was she beautiful, funny, outrageous and didn’t take herself too seriously, but she took this on with such importance and focus.

‘She was calm, kind, smart, funny, hilarious and vulnerable. She showed that she is always in on the joke and really knows how to be stunningly fabulous and knows how to make fun of herself at the same time. She did her monologue with the best mix of LOVE, vulnerability, self depreciation, humour, beauty, intelligence and kindness.’

‘Thank you to Lorne Michaels for including Kim and Khloé and I in this epic show and for your kindness, generosity and for always treating us like family. Congratulations my Kim I love you so much my girl. Xo P. S . And who knew she could rap?!’

Khloe was seen responding to Kris, as she revealed she was ‘beaming with pride’ after watching back her sibling.

‘Every single word you said is completely spot on! I am beaming with pride! What a show this was! What a phenomenal show that we were blessed and fortunate enough to make a cameo on,’ Khloe posted.

‘Definitely some thing I will never forget for the rest of my life! Kimberly I am so incredibly proud of you! Mom I love you more and more every single day! You are the ultimate queen.’
