Nanjiani is set to portray Kingo Sunen, a superhuman figure who is capable of producing blasts of energy from his hands, in the soon-to-arrive film.

The actor took inspiration from Die Hard’s John McClane and Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan when coming up with his character’s look and personality.

Also set to appear in the feature is Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Brian Tyree Henry, among several others.

Development on Eternals began in 2018 when Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that several characters under the banner would be brought together in an upcoming film.

The media executive expressed that the feature would allow for an ensemble cast to be brought together in order to portray characters that had not been seen in any previous movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Principal photography began in July of 2019 and continued throughout much of the year, with Barry Keoghan, Gemma Chan and Kit Harington being added to the cast as well.

After a lengthy filming process, shooting on Eternals wrapped in February of last year, and the project moved into the post-production stage.

The official trailer was eventually released on Monday, and it was described by many critics as offering little plot details in favor of showing a progression of Earth’s history alongside the titular characters.

Just before the video’s ending, a joking reference to the Avengers was made, which was the only notable connection to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe that was seen during the entire clip.

The forthcoming film was initially set to be released in November of 2020, although it was ultimately delayed due to the onset of the global pandemic.

Its debut was originally pushed to February, before it was officially given its current release date of November 5th.
